The Famous Gibson Guitar Factory


Our first stop on the second day was the Gibson Guitar Factory in Memphis.


The shop was full of really beautiful guitars, some of which were thousands of dollars.



We got to wear some ultra-chic safety glasses on our tour of the factory.



Our tour guide, Janis Joplin, told us it takes 3 weeks to make a guitar. Some cool facts: the trash at Gibson is protected by security guards and one of the most expensive guitars Gibson ever made was a re-editon of BB King's Lucille with a diamond-encrusted fretboard that cost $60,000.
