Graceland..The Home of the King

Karen, Allison and I began the tour outside the Graceland mansion. There were a bunch of Christmas decorations everywhere, including a huge nativity in the front yard.

This was Elvis' front parlor. He often played gospel music on the grand piano in the background. All of Elvis' Grammys were for gospel recordings.

The very retro kitchen space. I loved the carpeting.

Elvis had an awesome basement, which included this pool room. The walls and ceiling were covered in fabric and the room looked like a circus tent.

Out back there's a trophy room that chronicles Elvis' career. So so many record-breaking sales. It was crazy.

This was Elvis' racquetball court, but now it houses more of his awards and a recording of his Hawaii concert in the 70s.

Touring Graceland really makes you realize how amazing Elvis' fame is: one man who never toured outside the United States earned international and lasting fame before the use of global media and the Internet.

Elvis' gravesite. The other graves are his parents, his paternal grandmother, and a small plaque for his unborn twin brother.
